Willene James Brumfield
November 08, 1928 - August 21, 2017

Willene James Brumfield was born on November 8, 1928 in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana to the late Willie and Anna Vernon James. She was the eldest of three children.
She attended Washington Parish Training School.
On August 14, 1948, she married Oless Brumfield, to this union ten children were born.
She joined Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness, USA at an early age and was a dedicated and faithful member until her health failed. She loved the Lord, she loved people and her church family. She was delighted in serving on the Usher Board, assistant Sunday School Teacher, UCWM and deaconess.
During her later years she worked at Ruth Rex as a seamstress and for Franklinton Head Start as a Foster Grand Parent. She enjoyed working with and attending the needs of the little children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oless Brumfield; her parents, Willie and Anna Vernon James; her brother, Hilton James; three sons, Alvin S. Brumfield, Preston W. Brumfield, and Richard C. Brumfield.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted children, Frances (Larry) Smith of New Orleans, LA, Gerald Oless (Laura) Brumfield of New Orleans, LA, Lynetta Johnson of Pittsburg, CA, Ervin Lamont Brumfield, Sr. of Houston, TX, Alan Scott Brumfield and William Isaac Brumfield of Franklinton, LA; one sister, Selena J. Crain Elkhart, TN; three sisters-in-law, Laura Perkins Walton of Decatur, GA, Ada Mae Brumfield, and Christine Taylor both of Franklinton, LA; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following 11:00 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness at 2000 Greenlaw Street, Franklinton, LA. Elder. Washington E. Drake- Pastor officiating.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton in charge of arrangements.
