Miriam Allen
July 28, 1940 - August 16, 2017



Miriam R. Allen 77, of Henleyfield MS, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Lakeview Hospital in Covington, LA. Born July 28, 1940 in Crossroads, MS, she was the youngest of 9 children of the late John H. Strahan and Adelaide Marie Sullivan Strahan.
She is survived by her son Jimmy (Judy) of Wake Forest, NC.  Two daughters Stacie Miller of Atlanta, GA and Kristi Allen of Henleyfield, MS.three grandsons, Brett Henry of Nashville, TN, Jace Miller of Tuscaloosa, AL and Ethan Allen of Wake Forest, NC., one granddaughter Heather Allen of Wake Forest, NC. One sister Marty(Marvin) Page of Crossroads, MS. Countless numbers of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is predeceased in death by her parents, her late husband Ethan W. Allen of Henleyfield, MS, her brothers J.H. (BUSTER) Strahan, William H. (Bill) Strahan, James E. Strahan, George E. Strahan, and Joseph F. (Joe). Sisters Dorothy Ann (Dot) Burge, and Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Bass.
Mimi was full of laughter, loved to dance(she had no problem teaching you how to do the gig), loved her family and enjoyed living life to the fullest.  She always challenged herself to grow and learn with new technology. She was a member of Annunciation  Catholic Church of Bogalusa,LA and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune, MS. Her smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Family Viewing at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home Saturday August 19, 2017 at 9:00-9:30 am. 10:00 a.m. Visitation at Annunciation Catholic Church 517 Ave B, Bogalusa, LA 1:30 P.M. Funeral Mass Service begins with Father Patrick Collum officiating, followed by graveside burial service at Ponemah Cemetery.
