Members of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Highway Enforcement Unit arrested Donald
Roots-Scott (23) of Sacramento, California in possession of approximately 2 pounds of high-grade marijuana following a traffic stop on I-12 Tuesday (August 1, 2017).
Roots-Scott was stopped after deputies observed him in a rental car with California plates and speeding at 86 mph. He admitted that his driver’s license was expired and that he had marijuana inside the vehicle.

Roots-Scott was stopped after deputies observed him in a rental car with California plates and speeding at 86 mph. He admitted that his driver’s license was expired and that he had marijuana inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 pounds of marijuana. The drugs were hidden inside two cereal boxes. Roots-Scott told deputies he was transporting the marijuana for distribution in nearby Mississippi.
