Washington Parish Chosen as “Destination of the Month”

Washington Parish has been chosen by Louisiana Travel to be the Destination of the Month for September 2017. The Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival, Washington Parish Fair, Bogue Chitto State Park, and our other attractions will be featured in a promotion that will include radio spots, Louisiana Life magazine ads, blog and newsletters, digital billboards, and a dedicated section of the Louisiana Travel website as well as coverage on their full complement of social media platforms.
Local photographers are encouraged to seriously consider registering as a local ambassador with the State Office of Tourism and sharing your photos of Washington Parish. There is even a chance to win # OnlyLouisiana prizes by sharing with this hashtag. But the best reward is sharing what we love about Washington Parish with everyone.

Jubilee Days Festival

Founded in 1948, Jubilee Days began as a celebration of the harvest and of God's blessings on the community. It has since become a celebration of the unique heritage of Zion, Illinois. The town was founded in 1901 by the reverend John Alexander Dowie, organizer of the Christian Catholic Church. He died in 1907 and was succeeded by Wilbur Glenn Voliva.
