No Serious Injuries in Bogalusa Street Sweeper Crash

Major Percy Knight, Bogalusa Police Department's Public Information Officer, advises that at 6:55 Wednesday (July 19, 2017) morning BPD received a call about a vehicle accident at the intersection of S. Columbia Street and Long Avenue.
Khadijah Buckley (22) of Bogalusa was traveling east on Long Avenue in a 2009 Nissan Altima when she failed to yield for the stop sign at the intersection of S. Columbia Street and struck a street sweeper that was traveling North on S. Columbia Street. The street sweeper was operated by Zachary Riley (21) of Bogalusa, who is an employee of the City of Bogalusa Public Works Division. The impact caused the street sweeper to overturn onto its side. Riley was properly restrained by a safety lap belt that kept him from being ejected. The Bogalusa Fire Department and Northshore Emergency Medical Service were also dispatched to the wreck scene.
Zachary Riley was transported by Northshore EMS to Our Lady Of Angles Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
Khadijah Buckley was cited for Failure to Yield.
