Robert Dillon, Jr.
April 07, 1959 - June 15, 2017



“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, not even the angels in heaven, but my father only” Matthew 24:36
God looked around his garden, and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest; God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. Robert “Man” Dillon died, June 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving and caring family.
Robert “Man” Dillon was born to the late Viola Brumfield and Robert Dillon, Sr. on April 7, 1959. He was the baby of the family. Robert was a man of character and had a dignifying quality about him. He was a great father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved talking and if he was telling you something and he knew or thought it was right, he would say, “Believe that!” Robert loved bringing a smile to peoples’ face. He was relatable and loveable.
Robert loved his family and he enjoyed sitting around with his nephews, telling them stories about his life and making them laugh.
Robert attended Franklinton High School where he played as quarterback and was a member of the Class of 1978.
Robert leaves to mourn his death, daughter, Georgia Dillon of Detroit, MI, from his marriage to Dinna Foster Dillon; four sisters, Alyne Spikes, Alice Dillon, Martha Dillon and Debra Dillon all of Franklinton, LA. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola Brumfied and Robert Dillon and two sisters, Catherine Brumfield and Hynither Dyson.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 2:00PM – 5:00PM followed by a family hour from 5:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00AM at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mallory Callahan – Pastor. Interment will be held at Sweet Rest Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
