Shelton Dyess, age 70, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home of New Roads, LA. He was born on June 29, 1946 in Sumrall, MS.
He is survived by a daughter, Becky Dyess Part (Nick) of New Roads, LA; a son, Mark Dyess (Bridget) of Bogalusa, LA; two sisters, Bert Bass of Prentiss, MS, and Betty Hudson of Collins, MS; his grandchildren, Anna Claire Part, and Forest Brayden Part; Madelyn Dyess, Peyton Dyess, Brantley Dyess, and Cadence Dyess.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Waltman Dyess; his son, John Lee Dyess; his sister, Joyce King; and his brother, Huey Dyess.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 5:00 P.M.– 9:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 P.M with Rev. Clay Norwood officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
