Franklinton PD Arrests Covington PD Suspect

On May 21 the Franklinton Police Department received information from the Covington Police Department about possible child abduction, where an individual had produced a weapon. The information indicated the suspect maybe in route to an address in Franklinton. After a short search for the suspected vehicle Sgt. Brad Eckert assisted by Reserve PFC. Will Seals located and stopped the vehicle. The driver, Tremale Deonte Jenkins, and other occupants of the vehicle were detained for investigation. After receiving consent to search the vehicle by the owner, a 9mm handgun was located and a records check revealed the weapon had been reported stolen from Pike County Mississippi.
Jenkins, a convicted felon was arrested and charged possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The Covington Police Department was contacted and their Officers are currently investigating any other possible charges on the incident that occurred in Covington.
