Crime Spree and Man-Hunt Near Kentwood Over

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that Bryan Menard (26) is in custody after leading authorities on a short lived man-hunt in the Kentwood area Sunday (May 29, 2017). Menard is believed to have committed several crimes Sunday, including armed robbery and a possible car-jacking.  Menard also fired multiple shots at TPSO Sheriff's deputies while attempting to elude arrest.
Around 3:30 pm on Sunday, deputies located Menard on Hayden Rd.  While armed with two loaded shotguns, he fired upon deputies just prior to fleeing on foot into a wooded area.   Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of US Customs air support, the Louisiana State Police, Kentwood Police Department, Independence Police Department and Wilmer Fire Department secured a perimeter in the wooded area where Menard was hiding.  Subsequently, Menard was located and taken into custody without incident at approximately 5:33 p.m. The chain of events surrounding  Menard's alleged crime spree are currently under investigation.
