Is your child interested in participating in Cop Camp? Cop Camp is a summer camp program sponsored by the Slidell Police Department and conducted by the Slidell Police Department School Resource Officers. The camp is designed for students aged 15 to 19 who have an interest in a career in public safety. The camp can host up to 40 students and lunch is provided by generous donations from area businesses and organizations.
The students learn about various aspects of being a law enforcement officer, and the challenges officers face during their careers. Exercises throughout the week promote leadership and teamwork, and they complete the same physical agility test as the police academy cadets. The students get to see demonstrations from the swat team, K9, dive team, crime scene and the motorcycle units.
There is a $10 application fee and applications must be received by Friday, May 19th. Click here to print and fill out the application and turn it into the school resource officer at your child’s school, or email it to pcoleman@slidellpd.com. Remember spots are limited!
