District Attorney Warren Montgomery will host a reception April 4 at 5 p.m. at the Justice Center in Covington to honor crime victims in St. Tammany and Washington parishes as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Crime victims in both parishes are invited.
The purpose of the reception is to honor survivors of crime and the service providers who support them in their fight for justice. It will be held on the second floor, just outside the District Attorney’s Office, 701 N. Columbia Street, in Covington. Service providers will be on hand to discuss the programs they offer. Montgomery’s staff also will provide an update on proposed state legislative changes to sentencing guidelines, including those for violent crimes.
