Lacombe Man Shoots Self After STPSO Pursuit

A  man shot himself in the head, crashing his vehicle in Lacombe early Thursday morning during a pursuit by St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies, Capt. Daniel Seuzeneau said.
The man had made suicidal threats earlier in the evening, Seuzeneau said, and deputies were pursuing him when he crashed on U.S. 190. Deputies discovered that the man had shot himself once in the head.
He was transported to a hospital and is still alive, Seuzeneau said.
No law enforcement officers involved fired their weapon, he said.
The Sheriff's Office has not released the man's name. An investigation is underway.
