Traffic Stop in Tangipahoa Parish Results in Drug Arrests

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office deputies initiated a traffic stop Saturday (January 14) morning and that resulted in the arrest of Michael Nelson, Jr. (28) and Jacoby Nelson (23). As deputies approached the driver (Michael Nelson, Jr.), they saw a bag of suspected illegal narotics in a clear plastic bag in plain view. When deputies attempted to detain him, the driver began to resist and to yell at the passenger (Jacoby Nelson) to destroy the evidence. Neither claimed possession of the narcotics. 
Also located on Michael Nelson, Jr. was large sums of various narcotics packaged for street level sales. A large sum of money was located on Jacoby Nelson. Ultimately, processed methamphetamine, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, ecstasy pills, OxyContin, Klonopin , marijuana, Xanax pills, and over $2,000 in cash was found. 
The two were arrested on numerous charges and booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
